Floral

Hello

Thanks for popping in.

August is a bit of a settled month, gone is the excitement of longed for buds opening after the Winter,  fruit has already formed after the blossom,  leaves have completely covered the trees, things are mainly where they ought to be, the only change to come is the Autumn colour which we want to put off as long as possible.

The garden is looking a lot smaller as the shrubs encroach, flowers bloom.

The pineapple lilies really do look like pineapples.  I can't believe how easy these plants are to grow, they look as if they need so much exotic treatment.

Tomatoes are turning red at last.

Away from the garden, lilies of a different sort spread across the lake.

We've still got blue skies in amongst the grey, time to make the most of them.

  1. Everything is looking wonderful in your garden and area. The pineapple lily is new to me. It's tempting to buy and grow one more new plant such as this lily in our garden.

    1. We grew them from seed and they've been no trouble at all. Their official name is eucomis.

  2. It's lovely to see so much colour around and plants and trees overflowing with fruit. My tomatoes aren't doing very well this year but the fruit trees are laden.

    1. You'll be able to enjoy all the fruit over the Winter too - lots of peeling though!

  3. How lovely and colourful your garden looks, the pineapple lillies are wonderful, it's great to have your own tomatoes for salads and pasta sauce, ours seem to be doing well at the moment:)

    1. Everything tastes so much better if you've grown it yourselves, the wait is definitely worth it! 😊
