Uphill

Hello

Thanks for popping in.

Uphill, along the beach from Weston-Super-Mare, was a real treat!  Emerging from the beach path near the boatyard, we followed the road into the village.

You get a much better view of the village if you climb up Uphill hill where the old church of St Nicholas sits, surrounded by a Nature Reserve, full of green wing orchids in May and buttercups and cowslips in the Spring.

We'll have a look at the church on Monday.

  1. There's some lovely villages which surround these seaside towns if you take the trouble to look.

    1. It must be lovely to live near the sea to enjoy it in those off peak moments like we have at the moment. I can't believe it's been 18° here today!

  2. A very obvious name for a town. So British! B x

    1. I did wonder why it was called Uphill when the beach was so flat, until we turned round and saw the church right up there on the hill! x

  4. Beautiful views. It looks like a pleasant area uphill.
I like the thought of seeing rare wild flowers in the unspoilt meadows of the nature reserve.
