Crochet Blanket

After a JOLLY GOOD SORT OUT, I've been given a few odd bits of wool.  Look at those lovely colours! They have been calling out to me to make something,

  so I made a start . . .

and before I knew it, those scraps had turned into this

You just crochet a chain of 6 stitches and slipstitch together to make a ring

1st row Chain 2 and then dc (double crochet) into the centre of the ring 15 times and  slip stitch to the Chain 2 at beginning of the row

2nd row Change colour. Chain 3 then tr (triple crochet) into the next 3 stitches of previous row, Chain 2, tr into next 4 stitches, Chain 2, tr into next 4 stitches, Chain 2 tr into next 4 stitches Chain 2 and slipstitch to join to the Chain 3 at the beginning of the row.

3rd row Change colour.  Chain 4 into a Chain 2 space from the previous row, dc twice into the same space and then dc into next 4 stitches till you get to the next 2 chain space from the previous row, where you will 2dc 2 chain and 2dc.  dc into next 4 stitches, 2dc 2 chain and 2dc in 2 chain space as before until row is completed, ending with a  slipstitch to the initial chain 4 of the row.

Well it all sounds like gobbledigook to me!  However magically these squares appear.  There are loads of crochet patterns and youtube video tutorials on the internet. Just have a go! That's how I have learnt, am still learning.

Eventually when I've made a load of squares, I'll join them all together but this will be ongoing for a while yet.

Anyway, meantime . . . .

The sun has got it's hat on, hip hip hip hooray!
