The Biscuit Factory

Hello

Thanks for popping in.

I've recently been exploring again, seeking out places of interest and there was the bonus of having some great sunny weather. I was expecting fog on the Tyne but the blue skies in Newcastle were a treat.

The Biscuit Factory is the UK's largest independent art, craft and design gallery.  The building itself was a Victorian biscuit manufacturing warehouse but the two floors have been beautifully refurbished to make exhibition spaces as well as a restaurant and areas for functions.  All those windows let the light stream in and let the beautiful items on display shine.  Items can be bought using an interest-free purchase scheme.

Here are a few of the items that caught my eye.

I loved these glass fields and bluebell woods, the detail was fantastic. Do zoom in if you can.

Who would have thought there would be life size horses upstairs.  You could just see them through the window from the outside.

The restaurant looked spacious with even a rooftop terrace, sadly I had only just had my breakfast and couldn't squeeze in another coffee .

The Biscuit Factory is in Ouseburn on the outskirts of the City and is well worth a visit but if Newcastle is just too far to travel, have a look at their website.

Cheerio
