West Green Gardens - May

Thanks for visiting.

Just before we arrive at Walpole in Australia, we're taking a detour back home tardis-like to pop into West Green Gardens, our favourite local scenic space.  The big question was, would the peonies be out yet? Let's have a look.

There were a few peonies in the Japanese garden but lots more buds to come.

A brand new garden was under way, these large hills had been seeded with grass. We'll have to keep an eye on this as it develops.

Hostas looking gorgeous.

Strips of irises flowing down the side of the path.
I'll just let you mooch through the garden at your own pace, it'll do you the world of good.  If you click on the photos, you can see them much bigger and then it will be easier to imagine you are there.

What a great time of year.  Luckily, we'll have to return soon to catch the opening of the remaining peony buds.

  1. I've just looked up West Green Gardens. It's a great time of the year to visit such a garden. I've enjoyed looking around and especially being in the glasshouse where the vines are growing. Those amaryllis(?) flowers are beautiful as are the irises in the shady area of the garden. Super photos.

    1. It really is a smashing garden, always immaculate and full of interesting things plus cake as well.
