Frosty River

Hello

How are you doing?   Well, I hope.

It's really worth getting up and out early when it's cold and frosty, the sun shining.  The light is just fantastic. Instead of the golden sunrise which would have taken place a couple of hours earlier, by the time my train pulled into the station, the silver Winter light was spectacular, especially reflected in the Thames in Henley.  These first photos were taken at 9:30, just look at those long, long shadows.

Heading in the direction of Shiplake, you walk towards the sun and all is pale.

Retracing our steps at the bridge and walking in the other direction, golden hues light up Henley Bridge, turning it into an enormous spirit level.

Rowers practise on the Regatta course.

Then we turn back again towards Henley town and all is silver again.

A real treat. Not many people around. A glorious sight missed or overlooked.

Cheerio
