Five on Friday - London Decorations

Hello

Thanks for visiting, lovely to see you and a Happy New Year to those Five on Fridayers that are joining us today for Amy's link-up.

I've been to London this week and thought I'd share some of the Christmas decorations adorning the streets just before they are taken down for the end of the celebrations.  They would have looked so much more colourful at night I suspect but even during the day the odd shapes against the buildings or bobbing about high above the traffic looked impressive.  As we take down our own tree, I am glad that I don't have to get a ladder out to climb up so high to remove any baubles like those Londoners will have to do.

One - In the Sky

Two - In the Shops

Three - Fortnum & Masons' Windows

Four - Around the Streets

A hoarding around some building works

Five - Trees

Sending best wishes for 2017 and looking forward to reading about all your exciting adventures.

  5. Happy New Year to you as well. I can just imagine how stunning some of those must have looked lit up at night. I especially like the angel between the buildings. I will miss seeing all the Christmas decorations up and around everywhere.

  11. Lovely! I know they do it to encourage us to spend more money in the shops but they do make me feel quite twinkly. Our parish council put lights up in our street but half of them didn't work. Cheapskates! x

    1. That's a bit rubbish but then again at least they tried! It's the thought that counts, the lights were there in your imagination. x

  12. I love the storefront windows. We don't seem to do that anymore in the states and I miss it. Maybe they do in the big cities, but I can remember going to stores and seeing the little window displays that would lure you inside. I've never been to London but I would love to visit it someday. My favorite was the gnome in the last picture! CUTE

    1. My little village usually have a few decorations for each of the different celebrations through the year but not on the scale of London. It just makes shopping a bit more fun! Happy 2017!
