Welcome. I hope you are well.
It's a while since I mentioned the garden, being taken up with other more manicured affairs. Summer is definitely here as Mr CK has got the chillies out on their boards with the slug deterrer and automatic watering system active. The weather has been very chilly one minute and then boiling the next. Now though we're splashing through the rain and everything is getting bigger.
The dwarf beans that we're growing in pots have enormous leaves like umbrellas keeping out the rain which can't be a good thing! Our radishes, mint and basil thinnings are very tasty in our salad and finally there are flowers on the tomatoes. Mr CK has given away half of the chilli seedlings as we have learnt from previous years just how many chillies one plant produces!
Sadly the 'whites', with a couple of petals showing, have suddenly keeled over and come to nothing so we'll never know what they were.
We've bought a few flowering plants from a local Nursery - Lindum - we were bowled over by their greenhouses full of flowering masterpieces and couldn't resist.
Here's a couple of greenhouses at the Nursery.
What is particularly good is that the plants we bought are still going strong at home!
