Roll Up, Roll Up at the P by the S

Hello

It's a fabulous day for a walk at the park by the shops! What's happening this week?

Well there was a touch of rainbow magic in the fountain.

The flowers are still going strong and the climbing roses they planted earlier in the year look established and happy.

Inside, the tiny sets for the next Productions are on show- The Borrowers and

for Christmas, Sleeping Beauty.

Outside again and near where the swans hang out, the circus is in town.

There's always something going on here although I was a tad disappointed that there weren't any elephants in the lake  or trapeze artists swinging through the trees or ballerinas balanced on bouncing horses but I don't think circuses are the same as they used to be.

Have fun.

Bye for now.

West Green Garden in September

Hello

We visited West Green garden in the Spring when all the daffs were out so we thought it was about time that we went back again to see the Autumn delights before it closes for the Winter.

It's such a wonderful place, 10 acres in all, so sit back and enjoy all the photos while you have a well deserved cup of coffee.

I'm afraid I got carried away eating my apple strusel cake and forgot to take a photo but it was rather tasty.

Here's my spring post if you are interested to see more.

Bye for now.

MacMillan Coffee Mornings

Hello

This weekend many coffee mornings raising money for the MacMillan charity have taken place around the country.

According to the MacMillan website one in three of us will face cancer and the money raised from the coffee mornings will ensure nobody has to face cancer alone. The MacMillan nurses provide medical, emotional, practical and financial help as well as campaigning for better cancer care. They are there for the friends and family of the patient too.

It's a very worthwhile cause to support and very easy indeed when two lovely friends make such excellent cakes.

A Load of Raspberries

Hello

Are you fed up with me keep posting photos of raspberries?  I hope not. I just can't resist them especially all twinkly in the sun, even with a ladybird on.

The farm is choc-a-bloc full with fruit and vegetables, even with me picking them every week.

Beetroots

Red currants

Tomatoes
When collecting my onions and cauliflower at the Farm Shop, I chatted with the Farmer's wife as she weighed my beans.  Despite the abundance in the fields, since the school children have returned to their lessons, hardly anyone is stopping to buy this fresh, nutritious and fabulous produce.  How can this be?  Where is everyone?  It seems such a waste.

Like the Terminator, I'll be back though, so stand by for more raspberry snaps.

Thanks for your messages yesterday, great to hear from you.

My -Own Five on Friday

Hello and welcome to Five on Friday!

I hope you've had a good week.

Now that Autumn is here and the leaves on the trees are changing colour, I've decided to find five things that rhyme with brown! I know, it's a bit daft but why not!

1 Brown - Autumn leaves

Well, brown, orange and red really. It's all beginning to look a lot like Autumn, everywhere you go!

2 Town - Town Hall

On my way to the Auction yesterday, the Town Hall looked splendid in the sun with the baskets of flowers still in bloom and the bunting flapping about in the breeze.

3 Crown - Portrait

The Queen became the longest reigning monarch recently and to commemorate the day Artist, Animator and Designer Quentin Devine was asked by The Royal Mint to create an effigy of The Queen using 1,952 one penny coins.  Have a look at his website as he's made all sorts of things from carving Brazil nuts to look like footballers, making a photo of Jack Bauer from 24 out of London postcards to designing a jockey to go on the famous Huffington white horse. He lives in Camberley which was the subject of last week's Five on Friday.

4 Down - Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is back on Tv for it's last series. It is filmed at local Highclere Castle. Sadly, I haven't made it there for a visit yet but you'll be the first to know when I do! Incidentally, I've been enjoying some old episodes of Jeeves and Wooster starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie which was also filmed there. I keep expecting Carson the Downton butler to come through the door. I wonder how he would get on with Jeeves? Other news on the Downton front, I bumped into an old friend who told me she is one of the supporting artists on Downton this series. Exciting. I will have to look out for her.

5 Grown (!) - The Chillies and Peppers have really Grown!

Here are the beauties.

Do pop over to Amy's for her Five on Friday link up, there's loads going on. Thanks Amy.

Bye for now.
