Here's a Christmas decorating idea:
I've plonked some pink paper lantern lights on top of the mantelpiece and covered the wires with judicious strewing of fircones, some sprayed gold and slices of dried citrus fruits and pomegranates.
It was so easy to make the fruit and they have lasted several years. Just slice an orange, lime and lemon, spread out on baking paper on a baking tray and put in the oven on a very low temperature for about 3-4 hours turning every half hour until they are dry but not brown and shrivelled! When you display them they will continue to dry out. The pomegranate wasn't as successful as they were a bit squidgy! but they still looked OK the first year. I must have another go!
It does smell rather nice in the process too.
I've done an arty photo which is probably too dark for you to see!
Needless to say there are several Health and Safety issues here - knives, fires, ovens - you know the sort of thing - so do take care!
Bye for now.
