Down Memory Lane

Hello

We've decided to get rid of our LPs having moved them from one room to the other for the last umpteen years. We really won't be playing them anymore, will we?

I emptied the boxes and took a photo of each record for nostalgic reasons and made one of those Google+ stories.  It was another trip through the years to other times when there were shillings and pennies, feet and inches and houses cost £20,000!

Here are a few of the more colourful covers spanning the years, maybe you've got the same ones in your collection.

Needless to say Jane Fonda's workout is still in pristine condition!!

Cheerio for now.

  1. I loved the album art and clever designs like Alice Coopers Schools Out with the school desk which we still have. I mostly listen to music on Spotify now so won't even have anything to look back on in years to come. I have got rid of some albums but will be keeping my favourites just for the covers.

    1. The covers are great, I had them stuck on the wall for a time as it seemed a shame to hide them away. An those were the days! :-)

  2. We got rid of ours when we moved from California to Georgia, about a 2500 mile move. I owned the Pink Floyd and the Jane Fonda.

    1. I've got used to CDs where you don't have to hop up every five minutes to change the record. Glad your husband still enjoys them. x

  5. I have the Abba. We still have our records and a turntable - and The Mathematician loves them. Two years ago she bought a Sony music centre in an auction for the grand price of £17, complete with instruction manual and spare stylus, so that she could play our vinyl in her own room. x

    1. Fantastic. Good for her, there seem to be quite a few shops around if she fancied some new ones. x
