Record Breaking

Thanks for popping in, I've got the kettle on!

It can't have escaped your notice but today Her Majesty The Queen has become the longest reigning monarch for 1,200 years of British History beating Queen Victoria's record of 23,226 days.  What an achievement.

Photos from The Monarchy Facebook page.

In 1965 the Queen visited the Isle of Wight when I was there on holiday.  We stood in Ventnor Botanical Gardens watching as she planted a tree and as we watched I let go of my beach ball which hurtled down the hill towards her followed swiftly by my Dad who fortunately caught it in time. I don't think she noticed though.

I wonder what's happened to the tree, it should be enormous by now . . .

Bye for now
