Five on Friday - Recharging the Batteries

Hello Hello!

I hope you've all had a good FoF holiday.  It's been business as usual here so I thought I would recharge my batteries with a bit of exercise, fresh air and fortifying fruit and vegetables. I'm looking forward to hearing about all the things you've been doing too.

1. Fresh Air and Exercise on the way to the Shops

Having been cooped up without the car while it was at the garage, it was great to get to the park on the way to the shops.  Look at that sky!  Would I get round in the dry?

It's all looking quite green at the moment, even the gate!

2. A Bit of Culture in the Arts Centre

Inside, the building is the star this week as the Magna Carta Quilts are still being exhibited. Have a look here.

As I walked up the stairs, the sounds of piano playing spilled out of the Recital Room.  Was it someone practising? Or was a CD playing as the pianist popped out for a snack?

3.  New Growth Around the Park

The borders were looking colourful and jolly. Acorns were quite big on the oak trees. Berries abound.  The fisherman caught a carp to be put back in the water again.  The three cygnets are much bigger.

4. Renewing the Meadow

The meadow had been cut and volunteers were busily raking the grass. Refreshments had been laid on for the team.

5. Fruit and Veg around the Farm

Meanwhile back on the farm . . .

Daisies have taken over the carrots

Juicy strawberries, still lots for everyone

The autumn raspberries are now out

Runner bean monsters

Sweetcorn

Corn, cabbages and flowers

Still no rain!

Sprouts

In the shop where you can just pop in and buy if you don't have time to pick or dig up your own

. . . there's still plenty to pick and buy.  Ooh fabulous!

I feel well and truly refreshed from my outdoor tour. Hopefully you all refreshed your your holidays.

Thanks so much for calling in, it was lovely to see you.  Thanks too to Amy for providing the link up. Do have a look.

Have a great week.

Bye for now!

  2. You gave us such a lovely outdoor tour, despite the miserable weather we seem to be having. The farm produce is looking wonderful, I like to get as much as we can from local growers.

    1. At least you know where it comes from and it's the next best thing to growing it all yourself. :-)

  4. I wish our acorns would be that big, they would be part of a craft as I like to decorate with them.
