I'm still in Guildford - well there's so much to see.
As you walk up the steep High Street you can't help but notice the cobbles and setts which gives the street a distinctive look. Many of the buildings are listed and have a lot of social history to tell. Painters, gunmakers and organists have lived there, here's an article which gives you more information. I like the sound of Mr and Mrs Jefferys' secret garden complete with swimming pool behind the shop Jigsaw. I wonder if it's still there?
You have to look up above the modern shop fronts to see the many types of architecture and try not to be distracted by all the goods on sale!
Now a hotel, the Angel Posting House dates back to the 1300s. It's supposed to have a ghost.
Look at the tiny windows on this building.
Looking through the columns of the old Corn Exchange where you can now buy a few flowers.
Oops I got distracted by the colourful the new Le Creuset shop
That's it from Guildford until the next visit!
Thanks so much for calling in.
Bye for now!
