Spots and Stripes Five on Friday

Hello all

Welcome to another Five on Friday - it's a spotty and stripy one this time.

1.  Stripy wood all chopped up ready for the winter.  Nothing like a cosy fire, especially at Christmas or even when it's freezing cold!

2.  Spotty  pineapple lily leaves.  This plant is also called Eucomis and this is the first year it has started to flower.  So exciting!

3. Japanese artist Yoyai Kusama is well known for her spotty art and also illustrated my copy of Alice in Wonderland.

4. This proud peacock at Warwick Castle was spotty at the front and stripy at the back!

5.  I spotted (!) this lily (well, it's got a few spots) at Lidls for £3.30.  Isn't that just such a bargain.  It smells wonderful and the buds keep opening up and brightening my day.

Many thanks to Amy for continuing with the Five on Friday mayhem.  As always do visit her to see what else is going on!

Have a great week and keep those comments coming - only if you want to though! ha ha

Cheerio!

  1. Christmas seems ever present, wood for cold weather & home-made gifts need to be started at this time of year! I bought some peonies from Aldi for the same price & they were British grown, your lilies look lovely. Hope you have a great weekend x

    1. Thanks Very. The pineapple lily has grown a bit more and looks like a tiny palm tree, it's most peculiar!

  13. Great stripey and spotty images :) I'm not thinking of getting the logs in to keep warm just yet ... we've only just turned on the A/C, although I'm right now on the hot patio outside to do a little blogging. I love those Japanese illustrations :)

    1. It is a bit early to think about fires, especially when it's been 41 degrees at Wimbledon. Phew! :-)
