Stripy Jumper Bonanza

A few more knitted offerings for the bag for charity, ready to hand over.  I've gone stripy cardigan crazy using up the remnants  of the bobbly wool.  Quick and easy to knit, it goes like this:

Cast on 32 sts
Knit until 5" long
Cast on 29, knit to end
Cast on 29, knit to end
Knit 28 rows
Cast off 49, knit to end
Knit 5 rows
Cast on 49, knit to end
Knit 28 rows
Cast off 29, knit to end
Cast off 29, knit to end
Knit until 5" long
Cast off
Fold in half to form sleeves and back and front.
Whipstitch (sew!) arms and sides
Single crochet around edges, adding 4 button loops (single crochet, chain 5-10 chains depending on the size of your buttons single crochet into same stitch)
Sew on buttons

You can just adapt this to use up various odd bits of wool or use different size needles or even change to stocking stitch.  Experiment!

Have fun.

  1. This is a great idea - I've just been looking at all of my yarn ends and wondering what to do with them. Well done for such altruistic work! Judy.

    1. Thanks. The trouble is, once you start you can't stop!
